Job Description
As an Engineering manager at Doktor.se you will join the Tech department and a management team with several other engineering managers. Each engineering manager is responsible for a product area and together we share the responsibly to continuously improve our way of working and keep our organization something to be proud of.
In this role you will lead and support a platform development team which provides user management in all our systems. Users can for example be patients, health care personnel and system administrators. Users can also be pet owners and veterinarians. The User team ensures all types of users are authenticated, securely logged in and catered to in their various endeavors. Your mission is to empower your team and enable it to deliver high quality software in line with the roadmap and vision for the company. This includes making sure your team has the information, skills, tools, and support needed to work effectively and efficiently and have a great time at work.
Catering to our users is an honor and leading this highly skilled team is an important mission. It will require active contributions from you but there will also be much support available.
As Engineering Manager you:
• Inspire, lead and shape your teams
• Successfully manage and develop relationships with a variety of stakeholders
• Make sure plans are transparent and communicated to align expectations
• Actively participate in technical discussions
• Help your team and team members with prioritizations when needed
• Help team members set up individual development plans
• Propose and implement improvements
• Recruitment for open vacancies in the team
Engineering managers' report to the VP of Engineering.
Qualifications and personal qualities
• You have a background as a leader within software development and have preferably also worked as a developer yourself at some point
• Experience from developing, mentoring, and growing a team, preferably in an international context
• Ability to provide constructive feedback, problem solving and analytical skills
• You are passionate about people in all aspects, from recruiting, developing, coaching, and shaping teams
• You have strong communication skills, experience with change management, and believe in the power of people
• You are fluent in English and Swedish.
• Experience from backend or frontend development is meriting.
