hela Sverige The Analytical & Physical Testing Solutions Team in Nacka is a vital part of the Wood Adhesives R&D organization in Wood Coatings, AkzoNobel. Our mission is to provide analytical support to both existing products and future trend setting technologies and products for the wood working industry, to strengthen our position as market leaders even further. We are ISO/IEC 17025 accredited for formaldehyde emission measurements.
The analytical group consists of 3 experienced chemists working closely together with the whole R&D team in Nacka (in total 30 employees) and with other analytical sites in Wood Coatings. We work in a project and result driven organization, with a strong customer focus and we deliver with quality and reliability. Team spirit and cooperation across functions are highly valued within our organization.
We are now looking for an Analytical Senior Chemist who can deliver results of high quality and constantly improve to achieve best practice.
Main task and responsibilities:
As a Senior Chemist you will develop analytical methods and perform analytical tasks with a wide range of techniques, mainly using chromatography, LC, SEC/GPC, LCMS, GC and GCMS but also NMR, FTIR, microscopy and SEM. You will support analytical requests in projects and support tasks within the Wood Coatings business. You will maintain the laboratory analytical equipment.
• Develop and maintain network with and handle requests from analytical departments and RDI within Wood Coatings.
• Contribute to and support ongoing projects and support activities according to goals, timelines and priorities.
• Responsible for clear documentation and reporting within RD&I projects and support tasks
• Ensure quality of performed work and constantly improve to achieve best practice.
• Overall technical responsibility for the instruments at the Analytical Solutions and for maintenance of assigned analytical equipment.
• Independently run development tasks with a timespan of up to one year.
Qualifications
• At least a master degree in analytical chemistry and 3-5 years? experience working with relevant analytical methods.
• Experience with analytical separation techniques (LC, SEC, LCMS, GC, GCMS) and practical handling and maintainance of the above mentioned instruments.
• It is an advantage to have experiences from other analytical techniques such as NMR, FTIR, microscopy and SEM.
• Ability to select the best analytical technique or combination there of as a toolbox for chemical problem solving.
• It is an advantage to have experiences from work in GLP or accredited environments.
• Strong communication skills (both in writing and verbally), fluent in Swedish and English.
