Responsibilities:
The position's main task is to receive, clean and pack plant material and ensure that it is properly stored. Cleanup and threshing of plant material, drying in the drying room. Packing of the seeds from drying room to freezer storage. Prepare external and internal seed requests. Inventory of freezer storage. Weighing and counting the number of seeds and registration in our database system Sesto. Carrying out germination tests and work in the greenhouse and field work if necessary. Otherwise, perform other appropriate tasks in the organization.
Authority:
After agreement, supervise temporary staff involved in the same tasks and responsibilities. The position reports to the leader of the seedlab. The employee shall operate in accordance with NordGens vision and core values and follow NordGens strategies and policies.
One of the Scandinavian languages and English are required.
The position's main focus is the daily and long-term assurance / use of the seed collection, and to provide assistance in matters relating to the use and conservation of seed.
The employee shall contribute to the development of skills and techniques, equipment and facilities against a steadily more rational and safe conservation of seeds. Demonstrate good practice in reporting, archiving, documentation and other documentation and materials handling.
The position requires some travelling.
