Anocca is a young Biotechnology company developing novel T-cell therapies with an international team of 22 different nationalities. Anocca is working in the field of individualised medicine in immuno-oncology - reprogramming the human immune system to treat disease. At Anocca we have developed a proprietary, innovative biological platform for high-throughput, systematic interrogation of the human immune system, to enable treatment of cancers on an individual basis - the Anocca Immunotechnology Platform.
Job description
The R&D group at Anocca is looking for a highly motivated scientist to join the DNA team. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of nucleic acid-based molecular biology fundamentals and development of optimised molecular assays. The successful candidate will be involved in the development and implementation of cutting-edge molecular biology technologies, utilising state of the art equipment and liquid handling robotics. The position will involve hands-on lab work, with help from junior team member(s) under direct supervision, as well as interfacing with upstream and downstream teams to support their experimental needs.
You must have excellent English communication skills, knowledge of relevant research techniques, and have the ability to analyse and summarise data. You must be capable of working as part of a team but also have the initiative to drive projects forward.
Preferred Skills and Background:
PhD in molecular biology or related field
Strong theoretical and practical understanding of nucleic acid-based techniques
Experience with advanced vector design and cloning methodologies
Experience with synthetic biology applications would be a merit
Next Generation Sequencing and library preparation would be a merit
Experience in mammalian cell culture and cellular engineering workflows
Goal orientated with a focus on proficiency and attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently both independently and in a team environment
Strong communication skills and written documentation
Fluent written and spoken English
