Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions. We have been a supplier for peacekeeping and defence purposes to various countries worldwide for more than 100 years. Besides creating long-term profitable businesses, supporting the defence of democratic societies and human rights is an important duty in order to enable the shift to a sustainable transport system. Scania's vehicles stem from the modular product system, contributing to a wide and competitive portfolio of different truck configurations to meet the requirements for defence applications. Together with a well-developed defence-tailored service portfolio, we have today a strong offer in the defence truck market and there is great potential to grow this business further. Being successful in several tenders in recent years and to be able to keep up with the increasing global demand, we are currently looking for two experienced and highly motivated Sales Managers to join the dedicated Defence sales team within the Trucks sales organisation.

The assignment

As a Sales Manager in the Defence team, you and your colleagues have the global commercial responsibility for the business area. You work in close cooperation with Scania's sales and services companies as well as colleagues within R&D, Purchasing and After Sales. Together with your colleagues, you are involved in all phases of the sales process, including prospecting, lobbying, quotation, negotiation as well as solution development and the delivery phase. Your responsibility is to always take the lead on the commercial aspects throughout the sales process. Together with the Scania distributor, you have the objective to mitigate risks and secure Scania's consolidated profitability according to the goals defined. Within the responsibility comes also continuously trying to understand and bring customer demands into new business opportunities.

Your profile

You have solid experience from working with complex solution sales and you are comfortable in an international business environment. Further, we would like you to have experience in public procurement and tendering processes as well as knowledge about commercial contracts. You have a strong commercial mindset and excellent communication and negotiation skills. We expect this person to have a high degree of responsibility and you can manage to take on a strategic holistic approach as well as work with a lot of information and a high level of detail. Excellent communication skills are required in the interaction with our customers and other involved stakeholders. Knowledge and experience within the defence industry are highly valued for this position. You have a relevant university degree in business, engineering or political science.

Working with the defence business is a challenging but very exciting and rewarding assignment. Our work will deliver solutions helping to protect democratic societies for the coming decades. The team is dynamic, dedicated and determined to deliver world-class long-lasting solutions for our customers.

If this sounds interesting to you, please help us to understand why you should be our next colleague by providing us with your CV and a motivational letter.
