Here we have the research specialisations of Embedded Systems, and Innovation and Product Realisation. Our work takes place in cooperation with and in strategic agreements with companies, organisations and public authorities in the region.

Position description
We are looking for a skilled Ph.D. in the area of production development, to join us in different research projects relating to production technology development, industrialization processes and global production and implementation of Industry 4.0
The tasks of the position mainly consist of research and supervision of master and bachelor students, in the areas of production and logistics. The position will also include some tasks related to development and teaching in courses, both for students and professionals. The position is part of the product and production development research group which focus methods and processes for conducting effective development work as well as on tools that facilitates and streamlines the work.
In addition, the appointment requires to actively act to create new funding, applications for research grants, and to participate in strengthening the research and managing of projects in collaboration with industrial and academic partners.
The candidate is expected to work closely with the MDH staff and other scientific partners, as well as the national industrial partners of the university.
Qualification requirements
The qualification requirement for appointment as a Researcher is degree of Doctor, or equivalent academic competence or other professional qualifications of significance with regard to the subject content of the appointment and the duties included in the appointment.
To be qualified for appointment as a Researcher the applicant must have demonstrated the academic skills required for the appointment. Academic skills may also have been demonstrated by the ability to achieve results in research through cooperation in joint projects of benefit to academia and industry/the public sector/society in general and through the ability to disseminate research.

Assessment Criteria
The assessment criteria shall be based on the degree of skills required for the appointment. In general terms these assessment criteria shall include the ability to cooperate as well as the ability and suitability otherwise required to fulfil the duties well.
Specific criteria include:
• Research experience and knowledge of production development
• Experience with empirical research conducted in industrial settings.
• Experience of different forms of collaborative research projects, in particular industrial cooperation research projects
• Experience of supervision of master/bachelor thesis students
• Experience from teaching of master and bachelor level
• Already developed academic and industrial networks.

Merit
Publication in leading conferences and journals, as well as a track record of collaboration with industrial partners are essential. Understanding of industrial production settings and needs is an important aspect. In particular, experience in the fields of technology development and global production and collaborative research with industry are considered of merit.
The applicant should have demonstrated the ability to carry out both independent and team-based research within a national environment, as well as worked with the transfer of research findings towards industrial application.
Previous experience in teaching and supervision of students is a merit.
Since the position implies research in close collaboration with industrial partners and teaching to program students and professionals, proof of Swedish knowledge is a merit.
