The research area and duties
Our research projects involve the synthesis and conformational analysis of simple and chiral complex molecules that are biologically active. We are seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented synthetic organic chemist, with a strong interest in chemical ecology and with a specific interest to identify the chemical communications between insects for applications in insect pest control.

Qualifications
Applicants should hold a PhD in Organic Chemistry and should have a strong background in synthesis, characterizing target molecules using NMR (incl. 2D analysis) and GC-MS/LC-MS analysis.
The successful candidate should be well acquainted with the working conditions in Sweden and should have previous experience from reputed universities, and should have the ability to work as part of a team and possess excellent English written and oral communication skills. The candidate 's experience should also cover synthetic and structural terpenoid chemistry, cyclic acetals, fungus cultivation, extraction/identification techniques from culture. The candidate should also have experience in mass fragmentation analysis, enzymatic synthesis and biosynthetic studies. The required qualifications should be evidenced by strong international publications in the field. Applicants having experience in synthesis of natural products, particularly semiochemicals, are preferred.
