Here we have the research specialisations of Embedded Systems, and Innovation and Product Realisation. Our work takes place in cooperation with and in strategic agreements with companies, organisations and public authorities in the region.

The announced position is within one of Sweden's most active research groups in software testing, The Software Testing Laboratory (
http://www.es.mdh.se/research-groups/27-Software_Testing_Laboratory), situated in the Embedded Systems division and the School of Innovation, Design and Engineering.
The position is a temporary employment for one year with a possibility of extension.
Position description
Since 2013, Mälardalen University is in a strategic partnership with Volvo AB. As one activity within this partnership, Volvo and MDH has jointly decided to establish an embedded systems Volvo lab at MDH in Västerås, including two construction equipment simulators. The successful candidate for this position is expected to coordinate and participate in the integration of Volvo Construction Equipment simulators in education and research activities within the Embedded Systems division at MDH. It is expected that the candidate will work independently, albeit in continuous dialogue with researchers, developers and teachers at MDH and Volvo, towards this objective.
The Researcher may be required to initially spend a few days per week at Volvo CE in Eskilstuna in order to establish the required contacts and to get acquainted with the simulator technology.
Qualification requirements
The applicant is required to have a PhD degree in computer science or a closely related discipline. We are looking for someone who likes to implement ideas into prototypes and that has experience in working with both teaching, research and industrial systems engineering. The ideal candidate should feel comfortable working both in an academic as well as industrial environment. Prior industrial experience will be a plus, although not mandatory.
