Occupational and Environmental Medicine is an integrated department with staff from Sahlgrenska University Hospital and Gothenburg University. We teach, research and investigate patients and workplaces.
We offer education for medical students, graduates, personnel at local health units and authorities for occupational and environmental medicine. Commission education is also offered in the fields of company health service, insurance medicineand work environment.
We investigate into and research on the effects of exposure to chemical substances, physical factors, ergonomics, vibration and stress in the workplace and the surrounding environment.
We investigate patients with diseases and injuries caused in working life and their surrounding environment. At the same time, we conduct research on working environment and health in working life.
Job assignments The main tasks in the work will be to design and analyze epidemiological studies in the field of work-related stress and different health outcomes, mainly cardiovascular and respiratory outcomes. Another research line will be to analyze predictors for work disability and work life participation among individuals with cardiovascular disease. The tasks will also include teaching and supervision of PhD students.
Qualifications
PhD Certified (legitimation) psychologist. The applicant must have documented experience of analyzing longitudinal epidemiological studies and a necessary skill is competence to work independently with soft wares like SAS or STATA.
