The arena
This position is located in Mölndal, Sweden within the Laboratory Animal Sciences (LAS) Section. This group supports all in vivo studies conducted at Mölndal and has active collaboration across the company. LAS scientists conduct studies to evaluate efficacy, confirm target engagement, and examine drug safety.
The role
Experienced Laboratory Animal Veterinarian who will contribute expert knowledge in experimental design and animal models to develop and refine models and methods by participating in large multidisciplinary teams and leading smaller groups. The position supports an independent research program and participation in external collaborations. This role requires participation in audits of external partners and provision of veterinary care.
Minimum experience
• Veterinary Degree with at least 4 years of laboratory animal experience
• Relevant post-graduate laboratory animal qualification (eg Dip ECLAM, ACLAM or CertLAS) or eligible to achieve such qualification
• In vivo skills in a variety of animal species
• Experience supervising and managing staff.
• Experience in experimental design and scientific publication
Preferred experience/requirements
• Knowledge of animal models within AstraZeneca?s core therapeutic areas.
• Advanced degree (Masters or doctoral level) in addition to a veterinary degree.
