The role as Research Fellow (50%) and Sida Support coordinator (50%) presents an opportunity to join a leading research institute and contribute to the management of a growing and dynamic research environment. In this position you will work in teams combining research with policy impact related activities to mediate change towards a sustainable and prosperous future for all. As an SEI researcher you will actively engage in on-going policy processes and work closely with multiple stakeholder groups and partners, developing and communicating new knowledge within the research field of environment and development.
As a Sida support (50%) you will ensure continued strong collaboration with Sida by facilitating interaction and maintaining a dialogue between SEI and Sida, and follow developments of Sida policies and strategies of relevance to SEI. The role includes maintaining an overview of the Sida funded project portfolio at SEI and ensure efficient monitoring and reporting of the Sida core support budget and deliverables.
You will play a key part in both external and internal stakeholder management and over time, build a relationship to other donors outside of Sweden with a view to develop and diversify SEI's funding base with bilateral and multilateral donors.
As researcher (50%) you will have the opportunity to develop and lead a strong, visible and lasting research portfolio involving several SEI research employees in the field of research. Moreover you will interact with policymakers and other stakeholders, and represent SEI at key events, and is expected to successfully raise funds from a variety of Swedish and international funding agencies including the private sector. You will also communicate results and insights to target audiences, and maintain a relevant network of external researchers that could play a part in future project development.

Qualifications:
We are looking for a person with experience in networking competence, project management and research skills. She/he should have proven interdisciplinary research experience and ability to work with various stakeholders. The applicant should demonstrate an understanding of both development and environment issues.
Key qualifications:
• A clear and established area of expertise, either through a PhD in a relevant discipline or through a Master's degree paired with a minimum of five years of relevant work experience
• Strong research and project management experience in the field of international development (specific knowledge on gender and / or poverty issues is desirable);
• Proven ability to engage in knowledge production towards high level policy making and an established network within national administration, multilateral organizations, research institutes and non-profit organizations;
• A strong record of research project design and management, securing funding, and publications;
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English (other language skills are considered meriting).
As a person, you enjoy bridging science and policy, and to interact with stakeholders, and possess natural networking capabilities. You place high value in representing the values of SEI and the research projects of the institute in a diplomatic and resilient manner. Moreover, you demonstrate integrity in all your dealings and provides professional and well-reasoned communication, and you display creativity and innovative thinking to reach results in new ways, however always under the guidance of the SEI strategy.
Lastly, you have experience in working in international, multi-disciplinary research teams in policy environments, and with international partners. Experience from Sida or equivalent organizations is preferable.
