The Department of Laboratory Medicine is one of six departments at Lund University's Faculty of Medicine. We conduct leading research, both broad and specialised, within the field of laboratory medicine, focusing on the onset of disease and how we can improve diagnostics and treatment for patients. Some of our strongest areas with world-class research deal with cancer, genetics and blood.
A short-term position as research engineer is available I Stefan Karlsson's group to work on the development of gene therapy for Diamond Blackfan anemia by gene transfer to hematopoietic cells followed by bone marrow transplantation.
The position is available from October 1, 2017 to February 28, 2018.
Qualifications
The applicant should have a PhD in molecular medicine with special training in hematopoiesis and gene therapy. Good knowledge about Diamond Blackfan anemia is beneficial. Experience with lentiviral gene transfer, hematopoietic stem cells and bone marrow transplantation are essential qualifications for the position.
