Department of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment
We are looking for a person who want to lead and develop our newly established laboratory for microbial single cell analysis and who has experience in advanced microbial single-cell analysis using fluorescence-based methods.
About the position
Your main work tasks are to coordinate, lead and develop our newly established laboratory for microbial single cell analysis. This includes responsibility for our fluorescence-activated cell sorting instruments (MoFlo Astrios), flow cytometer (Cytoflex) and fluorescence microscopes, as well as carrying out microbial single-cell analyzes with these (and other) instruments and contributing in other ways to internal and external research projects through, among other things, expert support and supervision. The position also includes handling and preparation of complex environmental samples for single-cell analysis and, if necessary, contributing to DNA-based analyses of microbial diversity and the laboratory's general quality work.

Your profile
To apply for the position, you must have a PhD in biology, biotechnology, biomedicine or related field and have significant practical experience in advanced microbial single-cell analysis using fluorescence-based methods. For this hire, we place particular emphasis on previous experience with large-scale fluorescence-activated single-cell sorting, but documented competence in fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, microfluidics, single-cell genomics and various hybridization methods for visualization are also considered as merits. It is further expected that the applicant is well acquainted with basic laboratory routines and methods for the analysis of microbial cells and their genetic materials. Personal qualities will be considered and given great weight in this recruitment. We expect that you can work independently and are used to documenting your work according to standard procedures. Good knowledge of English is a requirement.
