The Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics is among the largest departments of epidemiology in Europe with special focus on increasing our knowledge of the aetiology for different diseases. Our department consists of researchers, doctoral students, biostatisticians, data collectors, database administrators and administrative personnel, in total approximately some 250 staff. Workgroup and duties
Comprehensive Risk Evaluation for Anorexia nervosa in Twins (CREAT) is a study of discordant monozygotic twins with anorexia nervosa.

CREAT is a logistically complicated study and as such will require meticulous organization and attention to detail. Participants will undergo neuropsychological testing, structured psychiatric diagnostic interviews, microdialysis procedures, fMRI, and genetic and biomarker studies in two full days of testing.

Specific duties related to participants will include:

• Working with data manager to identify eligible twins
• Contacting and recruiting twins
• Scheduling appointments, reminding participants fill out online assessments
• Consenting participants
• Coordinating venues and personnel for all aspects of the study (i.e., ensuring the smooth flow of assessments across assessment domains)
• Ensuring the comfort of participants
• Problem solving any issues that arise during assessments
• Coordinating remuneration of participants

Specific duties related to data collection:

• Assisting with the establishment of detailed project protocols, possible ethical renewals, adverse incident reports, and ensuring that other communications are up to date
• Ensuring that all assessments are translated to online format and data capture is perfect
• Maintaining iPads for patient use
• Checking for missing data on all participants (goal=no missing data)
• Liaising with database manager to ensure that all questionnaire, interview, and biological data are appropriately coded and linked
• Preparing all barcode labels for biological specimens
• Working with the KI biobank to develop sample transportation and storage procedures
• Transporting biological specimens to the biobank
• Assisting the research team in other aspects related to the data collection, i.e., assisting when needed with the MRI, accompanying participants to the DEXA, assessments, arranging and coordinating meals

Educational background that is required
• Bachelors degree in nursing, or
• Masters degree in other relevant discipline

Experience and knowledge that is required
Prior experience with study coordination is essential. Experience working biological specimens and preferable also MRI or willingness to learn to assist with MRI. Prior experience with eating disorders not essential but a bonus. Although we would prefer a research nurse, we will consider applicants with other relevant experience that would be appropriate for the tasks associated with the position.

Personal characteristics
Excellent interpersonal skills, considerate manner with patients, organized, efficient, unflappable, efficient, flexible in dealing with unpredictability. Good team player.

The position is for 2 years with possibility of extension.
