The Section Product and Process Research & Measurement Analytical Science within R&D EMEIA constitutes of two groups, Analytics and Synthesis including Pilot Plant. The section provides knowledge and expertise within these areas in order to provide support to our customers, the application group, to the plants and to other Business Units within AkzoNobel.
Dina arbetsuppgifterOne of our colleagues is taking next step in his career and therefore we have an opening for a permanent Research Chemist position within the Synthesis/Pilot Group, based in Stenungsund, Sweden. In your role as Research Chemist you will be reporting to Section Manager MAS & PPR. In the role as Research Chemist you will: - Act as an expert in synthesis and process chemistry related tasks and questions related to new product development/research, process optimizations, customer complaints, trouble shooting in the plant etc. - Independently run assignments/experiments and in accordance to prioritizations for both internal and external customers, and interpret the results. - Proactively communicate results and suggestions to the customer during the work for complex task in order to ensure that the results, samples and the used resources fit the need of the business. Report the results according to the routines in the management system. We also believe that you will actively contribute to the safety and order of the lab, and have a strong focus on the Health, Safety and Environment questions.
Utbildning och erfarenhetTo be successful in this position you hold PhD/Licentiate in Chemistry or related field with emphasis on organic chemistry. Alternatively you hold M.Sc. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with 5 - 7 years of experience in organic chemistry. In addition, you have excellent skills regarding practical lab work and usage of relevant working equipment. On a personal level you are proactive and enjoy working towards continues improvements. You have good communication and interpersonal skills, are fluent in English and Swedish, both written and spoken.
