Job description
The candidate is expected to work on the development of novel bio-synthetic polymeric scaffolds for regenerative medicine applications. Of particular interest is the use and comparison of electrospinning and related techniques versus hydrogel fabrication for the production of new polymeric materials for the regeneration of nerves, spinal cord or cardiovascular system. Previous experience with electrospinning scaffolds for tissue engineering is required. Previous experience working with hydrogels, and in particular, some experience in handling collagen-based materials is very helpful. He/she will be expected to interact with the Integrative Regenerative Medicine (IGEN) Centre Linköping University and the County of Östergötland. The candidate should also be willing to work in a truly multidisciplinary environment involving materials scientists, chemists, biologists, preclinical scientists and clinicians.
Requirements
We foresee that the candidate has a background (bachelor or master degree) in biomaterials/tissue engineering or biochemical engineering.
