Arbetsuppgifter
Under the immediate supervision of the Senior Programme Manager, Political Participation and Representation Processes, the incumbent shall:
1 Political Finance database
• Provide assistance and feedback during the design and implementation of the updated and revised database, in the context of the new website, including web content management, providing feedback to website developers, fact-checking migrated data and reviewing database functions.
• Provide assistance and feedback during the revision of the Political Finance database questionnaire, including during the drafting of the concept note and user consultation surveys and discussions.
• Assist in the process of a large-scale update of the database, including providing assistance during the recruitment procedure for researchers, coordinating data entries, reviewing data submitted by researchers, and providing assistance during the launch of the updated database and showcasing results.
• Respond to requests for assistance or feedback on issues related to the database.
2 Future of Democratic Representation
• Assist the manager in coordinating an institutional response to the challenges of democratic representation, preparing briefings and presentations as requested.
• Manage and promote the utilization by target users of existing and new digital tools to support political parties by facilitating their engagement with citizens or inform leaders democratic reform efforts, such as the 'Digital Parties Portal', and the establishment of enhancement of the repositories and communications of the programme using the new institutional website
3 Other support tasks
• Provide assistance and support with research as needed for concept notes, project proposals, further developing and finalizing the signature publication chapters on political finance, the crisis of representation, and in the finalization of the 'Online Reporting and Disclosure' guide.
• Participate in IDEA internal planning and coordination meetings on upcoming publications to take notes and/or provide feedback related to political finance/money in politics.
• Take minutes during the team bi-weekly meetings.
• Promote internal and external communication of the programme, for example through updating website, producing articles for the institutional website, social media and newsletters.
• Provide guidance and brief interns about social media accounts and the political finance database.
• Provide ad hoc administrative and logistic assistance related to events, activities and missions involving the PPRP team.
Utbildning/erfarenhet;
General Profile
• Some knowledge of or experience with web content management systems, developing and maintaining websites or other collaborative, information platforms such as databases, repositories, etc.
• At least 2 years of experience in areas related to democratic governance, political parties, ICT4D, including substantial internship(s);
• Good handling of research tasks and information, writing and conveying knowledge to groups of users;
• Fluency in English required. Other languages would be an advantage.
Education andExperience
• Around 3 years, including substantial internship(s);
• Master 's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject;
• Field experience is desirable.
