We are now looking for you who would like to join our Regulatory Process & Compliance Team as Regulatory Learning & Development Director.

In the Regulatory Process and Compliance team we network collaboratively to enable our customer groups to operate efficient processes in a compliant manner, supporting teams leading enterprise wide regulatory strategies, policy and delivery - so that no patient waits

What you'll do
As the L&D Director you will lead Regulatory L&D framework and delivery supporting all R&D Regulatory groups across TAs. This include direct line management of L&D professionals in the central delivery team and to drive strategy together with customer groups stakeholders nominated to the governance board. The scope include Regulatory Academy programs and agreed training and capability framework related activities according to priorities set by Governance team.

This is a position for you that thrive in developing relationships cross functional. You will work closely with Regulatory groups, R&D L&D Heads, R&D learning practitioners and HR Global T&D, Global Shared Services and other relevant areas of AZ to execute the delivery. You contribute to direction to the R&D Learning Guild to drive a unified and focussed agenda across R&D. As a member of the Leadership Team for Reg Process & Compliance, you proactively contribute to the strategy, direction and efficient operation of the group as well as develop and deliver departmental performance targets.

Lead the Regulatory Academy (which is made up of multiple programmes) ensuring design and development of effective training and L&D approaches and materials, and engagement of the right expertise (e.g. SMEs / external resources) to develop and/or deliver training solutions

Deliver the annual process for assessing Capability and Learning & Development needs, including prioritization and phasing of delivery
*

Deliver agreed functionally focussed organisation capability programmes, in response to learning needs
*

Identify opportunities to standardise and simplify learning and development processes and systems (GxP and non-GxP) in a spirit of efficiency and effectiveness
*

Directing communications and change activities relating to Reg learning strategy (e.g. promoting learning pathways in Degreed, championing the 3Es learning framework, ensuring learning interventions are holistic, personalised and relevant to regulatory work)
*

Manage budget and headcount for L&D and establish and maintain relationships with identified vendors including SOWs, approvals and project initiation, progress and closure
*

Provide support to Process Owners in delivery of effective Process awareness or training sessions through standard outlined presentation templates, structure for repository and for scheduling and arranging regular Process update communications

Ensure AZ learning management platform is appropriately utilised to assign and track training
*

Depending on experience, as Business Learning Lead, BLL; act as Business Learning Lead in collaboration with Process Owners, BPAL and skill groups leaders; ensure all relevant procedures are reviewed and assigned to relevant Regulatory SABA roles/learning plans. Maintain and manage Regulatory Learning Plans and ensure available compliance metrics are followed up for action

Essential for the role

Experience and understanding of the research and drug development life cycle and of the needs and ways of working of Regulatory Affairs
*

University Degree in Science or a related discipline
*

Strong leadership skills, including a demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders and influence the broader organization
*

Passion for people development
*

Proven successful leadership and project management experience
*

Proven ability to develop others to meet personal aspirations and business needs
*

Proven ability to drive and implement change and improvement projects
*

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*

Experience of working in a global organisation - across countries, cultures, and time zones

Desirable

Has an in-depth regulatory knowledge and understanding of key regulatory activities and processes, Submission Excellence and Regulatory Operating Model
*

Professional L&D, training/L&D or project management qualification
*

Knowledge of AZ business and processes
