Quality and Customer Satisfaction (Q&CS) is a dedicated global team that challenges the Volvo Car Corporation organization to exceed customer expectation. To make this happen, Q&CS provides all parts of the company with tools, methods, processes, targets and audits that are relating to quality and customer satisfaction. Within the Q&CS organization, the Regulatory Affairs department is responsible for bringing knowledge into the company and communicating this knowledge from the field of product-related safety requirements. Compliance with these safety requirements are prerequisites for Volvo Cars to be able to sell our products on a global market. To support this mission, Regulatory Affairs, Safety department is responsible for monitoring, interpreting, summarizing and communicating current and future automotive regulations on major areas such as - active and passive safety and After Market requirements. The group also represents Volvo Car in important national and international automotive manufacturers' organizations in the field of safety, which are critical to drive and facilitate Volvo's position.

We are now looking for a Regulatory Affairs Safety Expert to join our team. In this position you have a unique opportunity to get in touch with the latest technology within the company and connect with people working directly with it. Your key job is to bring the information and knowledge to both internal and external customers, in combination with collaborating with various technical departments, making it possible to sell our products in targeted markets. You will also support with knowledge activities performed by local regulatory representatives on markets such as e.g. Japan, Korea and South America.

Main responsibilities

* Monitor, analyze, summarize and interpret information on automotive legal requirements. This also includes administration in Legal Requirement DataBase.
* Inform about and distribute current and future automotive legal requirements.
* Support the organization with interpretations of future and current automotive legal requirements.
* Being active in international working groups, meeting with other cultures and vehicle manufacturers, visiting different countries.
* Assist in the certification process when regulatory and requirement information is needed.
* Handling a mixture of technical and legal aspects together with lobby activities.
* You are at the forefront when new, technical development is brought forward.

Required qualifications

* Background in the field of safety and/or regulatory analysis
* Academic degree within relevant field
* Ability to travel
* Fluent in English - both spoken and written
* Strong leadership skills

Do you have a passion for automotive technologies and products and enjoy working with regulations and laws? Are you a self-driven, responsible and organized team-player with the ability to meet targeted deadlines whilst working under pressure? Do you have excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills to lead discussions with senior executives in both international and local forums? We believe you have the ability to quickly organize, manage both people and information and distribute tasks to solve the issues in need of investigations. You enjoy working with different cultures and in close collaboration with key partners internally and externally. Since you will be leading different cross-functional project groups, you are also motivated by inspiring and encouraging others.
