This position reports to R&D Department Lead.
Your responsibilities
Being responsible for content of noise and vibration simulation and model creation in R&D projects
Prepare, report and present results to our stakeholders
Defining principles for design and design rules for structures critical to noise generation and transmission
Proposing improvements to test techniques based on experience and knowledge of trends and equipment
Assisting external certification inspectors during testing activities
Provides consulting services to business operations and customers within own area of expertise
Represents own group/team in Engineering forums, both internal and external to ABB
Your background
A university degree in Engineering or Physics, giving very good knowledge of simulation of noise and vibrations, both structural and airborne noise
Minimum three years of experience of test procedures and techniques to verify compliance with standards and customer requirements with respect to noise
Experience from using experimental methods to collect data and data analysis to determine root causes and solving noise and vibration problems
Experience in noise damping techniques is meritorious
Fluent in English, written and spoken alike (whereas knowledge of Swedish and/or Chinese is preferred)
High level of cooperation skills with different people and cultures
Strong team spirit, individual and structured leadership to deliver expected results on time, on budget and with high quality
