FPC is seeking experienced R&D Project Managers to join us in developing future fingerprint systems for mobile phones and other portable devices. FPC is a leader in the development of capacitive fingerprint sensors and designs the whole system, from advanced custom silicon devices and microelectronic packaging, to algorithms and software for fingerprint recognition and applications on the target devices.



The Role

The position of R&D Project Manager entails the management of projects in the development areas mentioned above. The position involves leading a project core team consisting of sub-project managers and team leaders within each specific field and close collaboration with other highly skilled engineers. This position also involves communication with subcontractors and customers in an international environment to secure the best possible fingerprint verification systems.

Your role is to secure that your assigned development projects follow a qualitative process while delivering on time and within budget. You secure resources and time plans for the project and lead the project through the various decisions that need to be taken.

The work location is Malmö or Gothenburg as agreed between FPC and the candidate. This role reports to our Head of Project Management Office.

International travel to FPC suppliers, partners, and customers may be frequent.



Your Background

This role requires a Master of Science in Engineering, such as in electronics, physics, computer science or the equivalent, as well as several years of occupational experience in similar field.

You need to be fluent in spoken and written English and not opposed to traveling abroad.

Success in this role requires:

• Experience in R&D project management
• Experience in managing complex development projects involving both hardware and software
• Experience in leading sub-project managers and team leaders
• Experience in setting requirements, execution and follow-up
• Interest and an aptitude for working with everything from technical details to broader system topics
• Experience and understanding of system development for complex systems
• Excellent communication skills.

Preference will be given to those with experience in at least some of the following areas:

• Low-level programming and systems design
• Image processing and algorithm development
• Analog and digital ASIC design and testing
• Advanced microelectronics packaging
• Working with microelectronics including design, measurements, production and testing
• Patent work.

You also have essential qualities such as being ambitious, motivated and flexible. You need to be comfortable working in a growing company, where you will be expected to assume considerable personal responsibility for your own activities and the company's success. This also requires you to be a team player who contributes to an open and positive atmosphere in the workplace.
