You will be part of Corporate Research in Västerås. We are the largest research center within ABB with world class expertise and state-of-the-art resources to support innovation in the areas of both power technology and automation. Our multicultural research center consists of approximately 250 scientists from 45 different countries. Tasks
ABB works in many applications where computational fluid dynamic analysis is critical for optimal performance of our products. As a CFD specialist at ABB corporate research, you will be expected to develop new models describing complex and diverse multi-physics problems e.g. multi-phase flow, fluid structure interaction, electro-hydrodynamics, magneto-hydrodynamic, heat and mass transfer in stationary and rotating geometry. You will join our established team of CFD specialists who are constantly working towards new generation of products and systems in power transmission & distribution and in process automation, by applying latest CFD methods to optimize performance and foot print. As a researcher with us, you will be involved in technology development projects and troubleshooting activities with our business unit partners.
You are expected to contribute in an international team environment and has a collaborative spirit. As a part of ABB Corporate Research you will work with dynamic, motivating and creative teams with a wide range of experience and competence with access to highly advanced laboratory and computational facilities.
Qualifications
You shall demonstrate the ability of challenging existing design and engineering practices. We are looking for a candidate with good theoretical knowledge of fluid dynamics and holds a Master or a PhD degree related to computational fluid dynamics. You have experience in CFD simulation packages such as ANSYS Fluent, CFX and OpenFOAM. You are skilled at scripting in Matlab or Python or C++.
Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is a prerequisite while Swedish skills are advantageous. You are a team player to work in a team for solving complex problem. You are a creative, self- driven person who takes own initiatives and deliver high quality results under deadlines.
