Key performance areas
As R&D Engineer, you work with product development. By testing and evaluating potential materials to be used, mainly in our drills and end mills for composite machining, you participate in determining the final materials to be used. As part of your role, you act as test leader, hence responsible for evaluating performance of our tools in our workshops. Combining competencies from different technical areas to find the optimal solution is a way to success. With a hands-on attitude, you manage both knowledge development projects (KDP) and product development projects (PDP), where you hold a key position in supporting our ambitious strategies. Your road to success also lies in your frequent collaboration with stakeholders, such as technical experts and suppliers, as well as other business units and product areas. Understanding customer needs is essential. Most of our testing is conducted abroad, in the UK and the US, which means that some international travel will occur, although it is not a frequent part of your daily work.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with a degree in Material Science or other related field, where additional work experience from grade development, working with composite materials and the machining industry is advantageous. You have knowledge of wear, and wear mechanisms, and an understanding of how to design testing methods to provoke specific wear effects on material. Additional knowledge of machining in carbon fiber is also a plus. To succeed in this position, we also believe that you have experience from, or an interest in learning about scanning electron microscopy (SEM). As we work in an international setting, you need good communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.

We are sincerely interested in your personal qualities in this recruitment - you are a positive, innovative, confident and accountable problem-solver, who constantly shares knowledge to reach given targets and ensure the success of our team. Using your analytical mindset and structured working methods, you set ambitious goals, deliver on promises and act on business priorities. You know when to focus on details and when your work requires an understanding of the whole picture, as you easily navigate between the two. In this position, you interact with numerous contacts and stakeholders, both internally and externally, and you place great value on the importance of clear communication and building trustworthy and long-lasting relationships.
