hela Sverige Do you want to be part of a global and dynamic R&D organization with world-leading technology? As R&D Engineer you will work within the System Development department, globally supporting ABB Grid Integration by developing solutions for the main target applications including STATCOM and other FACTS systems, battery energy storage systems, renewable power integration, railway feeding and port electrification. You will take part in R&D projects with international teams and assume technical responsibility in all phases of development. You will have the opportunity to work with various applications from concept definition to testing in different environments, including state-of-the-art Real Time Digital Simulation and pioneering high power laboratories.

You hold a Master in Electrical Engineer and preferably at least four years' work experience in power electronics converter control and design as well as a solid understanding of FACTS applications. You have experience with power system software as well as hardware in the loop simulation. Equally important for this role is your personality and willingness to learn, as well as explore, new areas. Having a network within ABB Power Grids and specifically in FACTS will be to your advantage, as will relevant experience and a proven track record in developing power electronic converter control and FACTS application control solutions.
Fluency in English is a requirement. Your innovative mindset, flexibility and readiness to take on new challenges will make you an excellent candidate for the position. Another strength of yours is your ability to approach work with a systematic way of thinking and propose solutions based on great analysis. Finally, you achieve set goals with a high degree of independence and reliability.
Other valuable qualifications for the position is if you have experience of working with EMC protective design in Power System applications and if you have an interest of working with Intellectual Property.
You will be part of the global R&D organization of Grid Integration, which develops grid connected solutions comprising high and medium voltage apparatus, FACTS and battery energy storage systems. The team operates in close cooperation with several R&D teams in Sweden, Switzerland and India, as well as several corporate research centers and engineering organizations world-wide.
