About the organization

Our main objective for the Innovation organization is to develop new products and solutions. We are a global organization generating products for customers in selected market segments. The target segments for Innovation are Coatings & Resins, Engineered Fluids and Advanced Materials. In addition, we explore opportunities in other areas such as agriculture, energy sector, personal care and homecare. A major driver for innovations is sustainability making that important in everything we do. Our organization is part of Perstorp ' s global Commercial & Innovation function.

Application Development department predicts and confirms properties of targeted applications by designing molecules and formulations, perform application experiments in lab scale and then characterize the properties and correlate to the design and process conditions. The application laboratories are well-equipped and contain facilities and equipment for synthesis, formulating, radiation curing, 3D printing, polymer material processing and characterization of chemical, thermophysical and mechanical properties. For scale up we interact with external partners.

Our daily work includes products and application development in multiple projects and concepts as well as technical application support for existing portfolio of products. We work with colleagues across Commercial & Innovation and other parts of the company such as Regulatory Affairs, Operation and Sales. We are involved in technical discussions with customers.

About the position

In this position you will work on development of activities that have relatively high complexity in chemistry and application development. Also, you will manager application development tasks where investigation, prediction, planning, formulation, evaluation and correlation of properties to requirements and proposal of new ways is included. In this position continuous competence development is in focus where you will have possibility to participate and grow through internal and external networks in the area of expertise.

Who are you?

Master in chemical engineering, chemistry or equivalent experience.

Proven competence in chemical/ physical/ electrical characterization of chemicals alone and in formulations. Assess result from chemical and physicochemical methods and based on needs create new methods.

A couple years of experience from an industrial and explorative R&D environment

It is a merit to have customer-facing experience

Spoken and written English is required since we work in a global environment.
