Job description
If you are thrilled by developing the latest technology and work in an inspiring environment where new technology is implemented for the horticulture sector, this might be the role for you. You will be part of the Horticulture & Technology Team and conduct hands-on research and development on our smart lighting and biofeedback control system with responsibility for testing, validation, and data collection. Your role will be to prepare and perform measurement series and collect, process, and analyze data. It will include various test activities ranging from characterizing the technical performance of products and prototypes to conducting application tests in the horticultural environment with plants. You will also be researching and developing new functionalities in the biofeedback control system, which in addition may include sensor integration, algorithm development, and modeling. It is a hands-on role that requires both practical and theoretical skills. You will work closely together with our development team and research partners as well as our industrial partners with planning, setting up and conduct tests and evaluation studies to secure the quality and reliability of our systems.
Responsibilities
• Design and conduct trials to collect data for evaluation, validation, and modeling (inhouse trials as well as research trials at partner sites)
• Participate in commercial trials together with our industrial partners and customers to quantify grower-values, identify KPIs and calculate ROI
• Develop algorithms and models for our control system, including lamp and plant models, and possibly using ML as a tool.
• Perform validation and performance tests of our lighting, control and sensor product families
• Testing and studying sensors and technology for implementation in the control system
• Testing and studying plant responses of developed lighting and control strategies.
· Build-up and manage databases of collected and compiled data. For example, crop specific data feeding plant models in the biofeedback control system.
• Develop and manage projects together with our strategic partners, which would include both companies and research institutes.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in control and data science, horticulture engineering/science, plant science, agricultural engineering, bioengineering or another relevant engineering / scientific field.
• A combination of theoretical and practical skills within measurement technology and data acquisition, plant science, statistics, and programming.
