Do you have experience working with quality issues and are also knowledgeable in welding technology?
Then we have an interesting opportunity for you to develop together with us.
We are looking for a Quality Control Engineer to our production unit at Valmet in Torslanda/Gothenburg. Here we specialize in the repair, service/maintenance and upgrading of recovery boilers and other types of water tube boilers. Our most important manufacturing processes are welding - both manual and mechanized - and tube bending.
In the role of Quality Control Engineer, you will work in a team with our supervisors and specialists in non-destructive testing to ensure that the work in the workshop is quality controlled. You will carry out inspections in the workshop, identify and document deviations.
You are responsible together with an external party for carrying out manufacturing inspection on completed products and compiling the manufacturing documentation.
In addition, you are a driving participant in the systematic improvement work that is carried out both in the form of long and short-term projects and activities.
This is a role performed on-site at the workplace.
Who are you?
To be successful in this position, you need a technical post-secondary education and practical experience of working in welding operations, as well as expertise in directive-controlled manufacturing, inspection, assessment, and documentation.
It is a fundamental requirement that you hold an IWS diploma or a university degree in quality with a focus on the manufacturing industry. To quickly adapt to the role, prior experience in project work, knowledge of standards/directives such as PED (e.g. EN 12952, 13445, 13480) and/or ASME, and familiarity with various established quality improvement methods would be beneficial.
As a person, you are driven and determined, yet also attentive and unpretentious. Your work approach is characterized by clarity, structure, and precision. You are expected to independently oversee your responsibilities, plan your tasks, and take initiative even in rapidly changing circumstances.
You enjoy establishing new connections both internally and externally, nurturing them with your good communication skills. Being fluent in both spoken and written Swedish and English is essential, as is the ability to use and learn new software systems. Proficiency in the Office suite is also a prerequisite.
