Being part of Battery Industrialization & Logistics

Battery Industrialization and Logistics is a function within Volvo Energy that takes care of the second life of the batteries from an industrial and logistics perspective. Our responsibility starts when collecting the batteries at the dealers, goes through circular operations (repair, refurbish, remanufacture, repurpose) and ends up with recycling.

Working in close collaboration with our GTX colleagues (Group Trucks Operations, Purchasing and Technology), we lead the strategic work and constantly update it to match the business situation and the best practices of the industry. We orchestrate the work between functions, maintain relevant internal services and appropriate external partnerships to fulfill our mission. We communicate broadly to secure proper knowledge, involvement and recognition of our colleagues and counterparts. We also monitor and optimize both operational and environmental performances of our logistics and industrial systems.

What are we looking for in this specific role?

We are looking for a quality and process specialist dedicated to Repurpose activities.
Volvo Energy is structuring itself and forming projects to develop, industrialize and sale Volvo Energy Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The Quality and Process Specialist will be key in the industrialization of BESS projects.

In this role, you will be responsible to perform quality assurance activities with external partners to Volvo to secure components are compliant with design specifications. You will also have the responsibility to develop our external partners to help them delivering according to Volvo expectations. This is accomplished from the sourcing phase to development phase up to serial production.
In this mission, you will have to collaborate with a cross-functional team within Volvo Energy (I&L, Technology), GTX (Group Trucks Operations and Purchasing mainly) and to collaborate with our partners.

As member of Battery Re-Manufacturing team, you will also contribute to animate our Battery Circular Program.

Your mission will be the following:
Be an active member of strategy definition, supplier selection and development work to ensure that the requirements are correctly understood by our partners and that their processes are capable to produce accordingly.
Work closely with Volvo Energy Technology team and GTP department to make sure quality is built into the original design of our products.
Audit partners, identify improvement areas and steer improvement plans to deliver according to Volvo expectations
Lead and coordinate cross-functionally APQP/PSW activities for various purchased parts and projects
Work with the Volvo plant quality, and quality engineering groups to eliminate potential field and customer claims.
Maintain and update the various quality assurance and IT systems within Volvo
Contribute to best practice/ knowledge sharing in the team and within Volvo Energy and SNQ departments
Steer and report to project team activities related to quality assurance and industrialization
Support Battery Circular Program

What are the qualifications likely required to be successful?

To succeed, we believe that you are goal oriented, pragmatic, inclusive, creative, positive, curious and have an entrepreneurial mindset. You enjoy connecting with a broad network, building win-win approaches and developing relationships.

Your experience is:
Master's degree in Process or Industrial engineering.
Successful experiences in leading supplier quality assurance and industrial development plan.
Good knowledge of industrial and circular value-chains. Knowledge in battery packs and related components would be appreciated.
Fluent in English, written and spoken.

The location for the position is flexible between France and Sweden.
