Alfa Laval runs product development and drives product strategies through a number of Product and Business Centres. The Business Centre for Separator systems in Tumba is responsible for research, development, testing, project management, product maintenance, product management and sales development for the separator system range. The main objective of the Business centre is to improve the profitability of the separator system business through our initiatives and activities.
The High Speed Separator Development Laboratory is looking for a Test Engineer. In this function you are responsible for the coordination, realization and finalization of marine field test activities.
You will join a competent group of highly motivated colleagues and you will be part of working with different development projects.
Function
• Prepare test objects and make reference tests in our development laboratory
• Identify suitable installations for field testing and validation of separators and components
• Build and maintain relationship with shipping companies to secure field test sites
• Set up and negotiate agreements in cooperation with shipping companies regarding responsibility, safety etc
• Coordinate field tests including
• planning of logistics
• setting up the test object
• inspections
• recover the test object to it's original
• reporting
• Works closely with our project managers and support the development projects by being a test engineer on board ships but also in our laboratory.
Qualifications:
You are Educated in Naval Architecture, Maritime Operations, Marine engineering or similar education.
You have at least 3 years of experience as marine service engineer, repair superintendent or in technical management in larger shipping company, ship supplier or other off shore company. Experience from high speed separator service and maintenance is also valuable
It is of importance that you are hands on and practically skilled together with good technical, analytical, problem solving, planning and reporting skills. Understanding of maritime business and some experience with negotiating agreements is a plus.You are not only communicative and excellent of the English language but also enthusiastic, flexible team player, willing to travel on a partly basis. Some experience of IMO and USCG classification, certification, and other maritime verifications can infuence on your possibility to get this position.
