hela Sverige Scania has, together with Cummins Inc, a Joint Venture to manufacture XPI injection systems. The JV consists of Machining, Assembly & Test. The operations are located in Columbus IN USA, Juárez Mexico and Södertälje Sweden. There is also a global Fuel System Engineering with the center in Columbus IN USA to develop and support the products.
The Q-Team has a variety of responsibilities within the organization that are aligned in a similar way to other Scania Q-Teams. The Q-team is responsible for product related deviations at the assembly plant and customer locations. Q-team also performs root cause failure analysis for parts returned through the warranty process in order to identify field issues that require action. Team members are also expected to be the local product experts and have an obligation to proliferate that knowledge across the organization. XPI is a global venture so it will be required to work with counterparts in different locations such as U.S. and Mexico.
The Fuel Systems assembly plant (XPS) located in Sodertalje is housed in Scania building 182.
Your work assignments
The position as a Q-Team Engineer offers a large variation of assignments and broad network with Engine assembly plant, Fuel System production, Fuel System Development and other Fuel Systems disciplines. Your working area will consist of:
Support deviations that are identified by the customer
Support production deviations discovered within the manufacturing process
Support right first time projects that are consistent with product issues
Perform root cause analysis on field returns (warranty)
Give product training to others in the organization as needed
Other miscellaneous work to support business needs
You will also be active in establishing and continually improving the team's working methods and processes.
Your profile
We would like to have a candidate with an Associate's degree (Gymnasie- or Högskole-utbildning) in a Technical discipline or an equivalent amount of working experience. The ideal candidate would have prior product experience with common rail fuel pumps and/or injectors. The organization is new so flexibility and being able to work independently will be advantageous. Since the joint venture operates in an international environment, excellent English communication skills are required.
