The SMT Business System is a philosophy regarding change leadership that has been undertaken by Sandvik Materials Technology (SMT). The aim is to improve work routines and make them more efficient within SMT and thus increasing profitability. Purchasing is one of the strategic areas incorporated in the larger SMT Business System, it has its own part known as the SMT Purchasing Program. The Purchasing Navigator/specialist is the driving force behind the work.

Key performance areas
Your main responsibilities are:
• Lead change and ensure that the improvement program establishes new ways of working.
• Contribute to the continuous development of new work routines within purchasing.
• Support and work together with the global SMT organization to build strong and competent purchasing functions within SMT.
Travel and work abroad may be involved.
Your profile
To be a successful candidate we believe you should have a university/college degree in economics, technology or logistics and references from prior purchasing experience. Experience of project leadership and change management is desirable, as well as credited managerial experience within purchasing, logistics or senior project management.
Personal characteristics are seen as highly important in this recruitment process and should include that you are highly motivated and open to change while at the same time able to work in a team. You can create and effectively communicate a vision/mission, as well as you beeing pro-active with a supportive attitude. You are excellent at seeing opportunities and problem solving as well as you is operative in a systematic, structured, and pedagogical manner. You are fluent in English, both written and verbal.
