You will play a key role in building up our new MLPC (multi-layer pouch cell) prototype lab and grow your own team of technicians to operate it.

What You'll Do
To start with you will work in close collaboration with the Senior Director of Programs to build up our lab, you will also act as a super user for one of the filed in the lab, electrode, assembly or cycling. A big focus for you will be people management: hiring, scheduling and training. You and your team will execute and analyze cell builds, in close collaboration with R&D Engineering and other internal stakeholders.
You will be responsible for the lab operations, setting up the way of working, handling in-going material needs, implementing laboratory operational requirements to support analysis, all in all ensuring that laboratory operations run safely and efficiently.
Last but not least you will take part in continuous improvement of methodology and technology in order to secure the highest standards of safety, quality, and output.
Your Background
We are looking for an engaged leader, with experience in manufacturing in a regulated industry, preferably battery development/manufacturing. You take ownership and are eager to collaborate to achieve great results. You thrive in a multicultural and fast-changing environment.
You are a highly organized and result-driven individual with an eye for detail and a sense of quality. You have been involved in driving large, innovative, and challenging projects with high demands on accuracy and on-time delivery.
- Several years of experience working in a lab environment, preferably during "set-up" phase

A couple of years of leadership experience (project or people management)

Experienced with 5S, HSE, test/production planning and standardization

English verbal and written communication, and detailed documentation skills

Our Gigafactory in Gothenburg will be one of the largest cell production facilities in Europe, with a potential annual cell production capacity of up to 50 gigawatt hours (GWh) - thereby enabling a supply of batteries for approximately half a million Volvo and Polestar cars per year. Our state-of-the-art R&D facility will gather leading expertise from all over the world, to create the next generation battery cells.
