Volvo Penta Purchasing has the responsibility to manage sourcing of parts for production and testing for the Volvo Penta business. Setting clear and challenging goals and following-up the execution of the strategies and activities to achieve the goals are vital parts of our success. Successful Prototype procurement plays an important role in the development of new products and projects.

Responsibilities
As a Prototype Buyer you will have responsibility for procuring and purchasing test & prototype material for prototype & pre-series product builds.
Operationally you will manage the commercial interface towards the suppliers and you will be responsible for committed cost and delivery targets. You will have daily interaction with project teams and designers to ensure the timely supply of prototype material to the projects. Volvo Penta constantly develops new products and the prototype team is responsible for purchasing around 7000 part numbers annually.
You will work in accordance with the Volvo Penta processes, and the Volvo values and behaviors.

Main Responsibilities include
Sourcing of test material & prototype components from external suppliers
Procurement of test material from internal Volvo production units
Secure that prototype orders are fulfilled with respect to confirmed delivery date by proactive follow-up.
Update new delivery confirmations and comments promptly and ensure that important stake holders are informed.
Check that orders are delivered
Coordinate / book transports when needed
Assist in invoice issues
Monitor delivery precision and set action plans for low performing suppliers

Expected Qualifications
University degree in Business, Engineering or related field
Communicative-can cooperate and talk to colleagues at different levels in the organization
Fluency-oral and written-in Swedish and English is required
Basic technical knowledge, ability to understand drawings and engineering vocabulary
Purchasing experience
Personal Skills
Team player with the ability to take initiatives and prioritize.
Delivery & service oriented.
Good communication skills and good networking capability
Business, financial & cost management mindset
Pro-active and good ability in priority management
Result-oriented approach and good interpersonal skills
