Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Project Purchasing Manager to join our passionate team in Stockholm.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

The Project Purchasing Manager will be in charge of managing Purchasing Projects for Northvolt AB and Northvolt Labs AB, collaborating closely with Strategic Purchasing of each category of equipment and materials, Process Engineering, Manufacturing (Västerås and Skellefteå factories), Cell Design for each product to develop, Automation, Quality, Logistics and Finance.

The overall mission is to plan, organize, direct and manage the purchasing projects to meet the economic, leadtime, quality, capacity targets of the Northvolt projects.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Process Equipment, R&D Equipment, Materials, Automation, Material Handling, IT Timeline Scope: From Sourcing Plan until Equipment or Product End of Life.

Plan, organize, direct and manage the purchasing projects including Sourcing Plan development and validation, vendors selection together with Strategic Purchasing, material testing plan with R&D and Quality, as well as equipment tests and commissioning (FAT, SAT, Final Completion) plan, Design Changes during development and mass production phases

Monitor and manage the suppliers capacities, quality, economic objectives to achieve targets, with the support of Strategic Purchasing and Supplier Quality especially in case of quality or capacity issues;

Align internal stakeholders (Process Engineering, Cell Design, Automation, Quality, Logistics, Manufacturing, Finance) to timely achieve joint agreements, joint commitments and shared goals.

Design and deploy Project Purchasing Processes, Milestones, Reviews, Reporting Dashboards, aligned with Nortvholt Program management principles, Northvolt Quality Management System, and company strategy

Build a team of purchasing project managers and coordinators, and organize delegations and appropriate coaching.

The person we are looking for is strongly goal oriented, curious and eager to learn. Education/Experience

- You hold a master degree in Engineering or Supply chain related field and at least 5 years experience as Capex project management in the purchasing function from the construction industry or from the utilities field

Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plu

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world's greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt's team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe's largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.

We are currently in an exciting fast-growing phase and operate in a busy, fast moving environment, dealing with a wide range of stakeholders. We are staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs, in Västerås, as well as our Gdansk facility for production of battery systems. We are also preparing for upcoming positions at the main factory, Northvolt Ett, in Skellefteå.
