Process Industries/Pulp&Paper is a unit within Process Automation. Our team represents the ABB portfolio for Quality Management Systems and Advanced Process Controls.
We are the global market leader in online quality measurements, system solutions, and advanced services for the Pulp and Paper industry.
Our customers are Pulp&Paper mills and biorefining plants primarily in Scandinavia but also outside, and our mission is to help them optimize the quality of their products while preserving energy and raw materials.
We are a small and focused organization of around 20 employees with an office in Kista but also distributed in other offices.
In this role you will be responsible for a skilled and dedicated team of project managers, project engineers, process control specialists and service engineers. You will have a business responsibility to develop an already very successful business with professional execution of projects and service commitments.
We also expect that you together with our sales team and global product managers explore new offerings and services that can extend our business. With the strength of our team we also have a role to support other teams in Europe.
In this role, you will report to Head of ABB Lorentzen & Wettre.
Your responsibilities
Your main mission will be to develop the performance and profitability of your business unit.
As the operations manager you will drive, monitor and organize operations tasks related to our projects (QCS/WIS/APC) throughout the entire project process - all to ensure that we deliver high quality that fully meet customer expectations.
You will also have the overall responsibility for the performance of service operations and coordination of resources with the support of the service manager (reporting to you).
Plan, report and secure the operations financial performance. Secure cost-efficient operations in all projects and services belonging to the portfolio.
Support the sales team to secure orders by providing technical sales support and building competitive tender cost models that are in line with earlier experience and sales strategy.
Engage with customers with regards to sales support and project execution when required.
Support rapid resolution of any project execution issues using the right escalation process.
Ensure efficient level of governance is in place to have transparency across the portfolio as well as in the relevant bids costings submitted for function.
Set priorities in case of resource conflicts between projects in the portfolio.
Responsible for the compliance by the project within the portfolio to the ABB project management practices and processes, internal controls, ISO, SOX, etc.

Your background

Higher education within Engineering and/or Technology or other relevant education along with a genuine interest in business.
2-5 years' work experience within project execution from process industries, preferably Pulp & Paper.
Ready to learn, willing to grow with the role and a strong desire to develop new and existing services, tools and processes.
Enjoy guiding, motivating and developing people in cross-functional teams.
Willingness to travel.
Fluent in Swedish and English, written and spoken alike.
