Centralasiengrupperna is announcing a position of a project coordinator. Project coordinator will have in-depth knowledge and experience of Southern Kyrgyzstan. The post holder will work on projects' development, aimed at promotion of collaboration between the region and Sweden, and complement to an overall organization's activities that promote a democratic Kyrgyzstan with a strong, active, competent and inclusive civil society that contributes to human rights being respected, marginalization removed and social justice achieved.

Project coordinator will also have the capability and capacity to work on a wider portfolio of issues given the variety of issues and interdependencies between significant factors that impact Central Asia.

Responsibilities of project coordinator include, but not limited to the following:

• develop projects aiming at supporting children, youth, and marginalized segments of society in Southern region of Kyrgyzstan
• ensure the effective preparation and delivery of all project events and meetings, and production of all necessary documentation
• ensure effective flow of information between project's team members, participants in project activities
• ongoing evaluation of project activities
• support the organization and facilitation of events (dialogue meetings, workshops, training and seminars) with participation of transnational civil society network, project partners and Centralasiengrupperna team
• monitor and analyze the official (Kyrgyzstan's) and non-governmental debates on issues relevant to Centralasiengrupperna
• assist Centralasiengrupperna's team in the process of project application writing
• take on other administrative tasks as assigned by the Centralasiengrupperna president, such as translating documents, updating social media pages, assisting with logistics for travel, etc.

Essential requirements:

• degree in social sciences or related area of studies with the focus on Central Asia;
• a minimum of two year relevant work experience in local and international NGOs;
• good understanding/knowledge of Southern Kyrgyzstan's context and sensitivities;
• fluency in written and spoken English and at least one local language: Russian, Kyrgyz, or Uzbek;
• understanding of research methodologies;
• experience of writing and developing projects;
• experience of conducting research projects;
• experience in engaging with children, youth and marginalized segments of society;
• analytical skills;
• good communication skills, written and oral;
• ability to work under pressure;

Our goal is to promote a democratic Central Asia with a strong, active, competent and inclusive civil society that contributes to human rights being respected, marginalization removed and social justice achieved. We do this through long-term development cooperation, capacity building and organizational development, exchange programs, residencies and volunteer service, training courses and advocacy work. We are primarily active in the thematic fields of youth, gender, Human Rights, conflict management, minority rights and anti-discrimination.
