Tube Division, within Sandvik Materials Technology, is a world leading manufacturer of bar, billets, blooms, seamless tubes and pipes with an extensive product program of stainless steels, nickel alloys, titanium, zirconium and other advanced materials. We operate in the most demanding markets where our products contribute to our customers' productivity, process reliability and cost efficiency.
This role focuses on Tube Division's Business Unit EMEA where we are now offering a role as Production Unit (PU) Manager for our hot extrusion (Sandviken Hot). This is an opportunity to take an operational role of larger magnitude and a qualified management position with strong focus on productivity, cost efficiency and safety for our unit of about 350 people.
The location for this position is Sandviken, Sweden.
Job Summary
As PU Manager, you have the overall responsibility for all products produced at PU Sandviken Hot. including overall results, Quality and EHS. You also engage in people management by leading and developing the organization. PU Sandviken Hot's main assignment is to improve productivity, cost efficiency and safety performance to service our internal and external customers. Key areas for long term success is also to drive process and product development in line with our innovation program to ensure we industrialize manufacturing of new products. Moreover, this position, requires building networks and relationships with a strategic focus on key stakeholders.
You are also part of the Business Unit EMEA management team and take an active role in developing the BU business including approximately 1100 employees in total. Some international travel is included in this position.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a master's degree within engineering and previous management experience from production or manufacturing, with a proven successful track record. You are driven by a business mindset with strong result focus and with good ability to understand technical as well as organizational challenges. A hands-on approach in driving productivity and cost efficiency is a central part in your leadership.
Knowledge of Tube production is not mandatory, but advantageous. You have good skills in Swedish and English, in both writing and speaking.
As a senior manager for a business critical and complex manufacturing system you lead your team and develop people, striving for results with a focus on continuous improvement. You have excellent leadership skills, including change management, team building and coaching, and by setting clear targets and a structured plan, you execute on those plans together with your organization and key stakeholders.
