Based on the company's goals, strategies and budget you will initiate and manage improvement projects and activities. Your position will ensure that Federal-Mogul continues to be a world leader in the development and manufacture of marine piston rings. As production engineer, you will work diversely within the company, both strategically and operationally:
• Follow the development of technology and initiate changes in the company's essential production processes, primarily machining.
• Design and implementation of equipment and tooling modifications to help improve safety, reliability and productivity.
• Planning and designing new production processes. Establishing machine specifications in collaboration with operators and other engineering disciplines both onsite and outsourced.
• Project management and commissioning of machinery, tooling and equipment investments.
• Developing, testing and evaluating new piston ring designs. Project management of piston ring prototypes and optimizing processes to improve capability.
• Analyzing the implications of projects with regard to cost, safety and time constraints and making appropriate prioritizations and recommendations.
• Networking and benchmarking within the engineering discipline and other plants within Federal Mogul. Keeping up to date on best technology available for manufacturing processes related to foundry, machining and surface treatment.
Relevant Skills:
• Bachelor degree or above, mechanical/production engineering or related majors; more than five years work experience.
• Experience working with CAD, CNC, mathematical modeling and analytic skills
• Good level of written and oral communication in English.
• Strong initiative and desire to drive change and enhance processes. Proactively identify risks and opportunities.
• Analytical and critical thinking/creative problem-solving skills.
