Global Laws & Regulations is part of the Product Planning organization within Technology and is the corporate competence center for product related safety and environmental requirements and compliance. The department has the responsibility to monitor, influence and communicate the development of worldwide laws, regulations and standards that affect current and future construction equipment. The global role also includes responsibility to provide general interpretations of legal requirements and standards to all internal stakeholders and to initiate common safety and environmental efforts for the technology and product platforms.
Main responsibilities:
• Conduct global intelligence of applicable legal requirements and standards.
• Actively influence the development of legal requirements and standards through participation in standardization and trade organizations.
• Communicate interpretations and guidance of applicable legal requirements and standards to relevant stakeholders.
• Provide guidance on road homologation, type approvals and national certifications.
• Participate in product safety target setting.
• Assist product and technology platforms with expertise for risk assessments.
• Development of safety inspection procedures.
• Development of safety instructions, admonitions, decals and signs.
• Provide guidance for development of safety related content in operator's manuals, service and marketing publications.
• Management of legal required technical documentation.
Essential skills:
• B.Sc. in engineering or equivalent.
• Ability to understand and drive product safety matters.
• Interest in development and application of standards and regulations.
• Strong personal integrity and credibility.
• Self-motivated, proactive approach and ability to act on own initiative.
• Ability to work in a multifunctional, high pressure role.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Good communication and social skills.
• Holistic view.
Desirable skills:
• Practical experience from construction equipment industry.
• Experience in standards and regulations applicable to construction equipment.
• Experience in product safety engineering and risk assessments.
• Experience in systems functional safety.
• Experience in working with different cultures.
• Good ability to manage time and prioritize work.
