Volvo Trucks Product Safety team is located within Volvo Trucks/Customer Quality&Warranty and contribute actively to improve the safety of our products as well as to protect the Volvo Group Brands and our customers' safety by performing field safety investigations and escalating suitable facts to Product Safety Committee for Recall decisions.
We provide expert competence to perform root cause analysis and assess potential safety related issues for Volvo Trucks and Renault Trucks products, which have left the factory.
There is now an opportunity for you to join the Volvo Trucks Product Safety team as Product Safety Investigator.
Mission
Your mission is to identify potential safety related issues for serial production vehicles operated in the markets globally for Volvo Trucks and Renault Trucks.
These issues are triggered by the markets, or internally from our suppliers or manufacturing plants.
You will secure that these potentially safety related issues are addressed according to applicable processes with the right focus and urgency. You will be the interface between the quality engineers in the markets and your contacts within GTT and GTO.
You will also be responsible to compile all suitable facts in order to escalate potential safety issues to Product Safety Committee for Recall Decision.
Responsibilities
• Act as first point of contact for Volvo Trucks and Renault Trucks organization for potential safety related issues.
• Provide support to the product quality organization for thorough root cause analysis
• Assess customer safety effect and probability for potential safety issues
• Contribute to the Volvo Trucks and Renault Trucks log of potential safety related issues
• Follow-up KPI on leadtime and number of received cases
• Lead communication towards markets globally for potential safety related issues.
• Compile technical documentation for potential safety related issues to secure Product Safety Committee Recall decisions
• Represent Volvo Trucks and Renault Trucks Product Safety in GTT Safety Coordination Forum
• Have the mandate to request a Product Safety Committee meeting for quick escalation and decision

Competence Requirements
• Master degree or equivalent in a technical area
• Basic statistical knowledge
• Knowledge and experience in product safety
• Familiar with industry standards on safety
• Skilled in Volvo quality systems and tools like QRAFT, QRS, QJ-Argus, Kola, Impact
• Knowledgeable in Volvo products at complete and systems level for both powertrain and vehicle engineering
• Basic understanding in product liability
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
• Fluent in English.
