Would you like to pioneer the development of our Android-based Infotainment system, drive innovation and help contribute to the delivery of breakthrough experiences for thousands of our end customers worldwide? Volvo Cars Driver Interaction & Infotainment department is looking for a Product Manager with a bold and visionary mind-set to lead a global multi-vehicle program in close cooperation with our partners worldwide.
The department is part of the Vehicle Software & Electronics unit within R&D and is responsible for electrical systems and components in the areas of Driver Interaction (Instrument Cluster, Entertainment Displays, Switches, Climate Control), HMI and Infotainment (Audio, Navigation, Telephony, Bluetooth, Connectivity).
The Product Manager (PM) leads the Android-based Head Unit development together with RTE (Release Train Engineer). This position is a challenging but exciting opportunity in one of Volvo Cars focus areas for the future.
Main responsibilities
* Lead the product owners and make clear backlog-driven development
* Collaborate and set expectations with product owners, stakeholders, customers and architects
* Balance the backlog from multiple directions: stakeholders, managers, LPM and product owners
* Prioritize features and negotiate enablers in the program backlog
* Set vision and roadmap for the development train Infotainment Head Unit development
* Actively participate in the management team for Vehicle Infotainment Platform
Required qualifications
* 5+ years of relevant work experience, preferably as a product manager for software or similar
* SW development experience, preferably in an agile environment
* BSc degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience
* Committed to participate actively in the management team for the section
* Experience of working in an international environment
* Master the English language both spoken and in writing
* Business and end customer value understanding
Meritorious
* Documented experience of development working in the automobile industry
* Knowledge of Volvo Cars development process in general as well as the electrical development process
Personal qualities
* Genuine interest and engagement in management questions and personal development
* Ability to independently plan, drive and follow up your work towards objectives
* Structured, accurate and skilled to summarize and present status of your work
* Significant people skills and the innate ability to navigate the political landscape
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills: must effectively communicate with technical and non-technical teams, executive management, partners and customers
* Strong team player and relationship builder
* Ability to show courage and build confidence
