Milling is the heritage, heart and flagship of Seco Tools, and Solid Milling is a key product for the future. We identify, develop and evaluate new product ideas and enhancement to existing product portfolios as well as strategic product portfolio extensions, and we translate research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Our current challenge is to build one strong team spread over two main sites which together shall develop and realize a new strategy that will enable a substantial step forward in terms of profitable growth.
We are now looking for a Product Line Director for Solid Milling. This is a chance to create a solid global network and develop skills in portfolio management, marketing and sales. Since the areas of responsibility concern the whole value chain there are many possible career paths, into R&D, Sales and Operations, as well as General Management.
The location for this position is preferably Lottum, Holland or Reynoldsville, USA. Fagersta in Sweden, as well as any other site of Seco Tools, can also be an option, but will generate more travel days to this already travel extensive position. You will share your time between the main sites and visiting our regions in order to understand the market demands and develop the business.
Key performance areas
As Product Line Director for Solid Milling, you work with a broad range of activities from top-line growth activities, portfolio optimization and cost rationalization to stock availability and marketing. You set the strategic agenda for the product portfolio in the product line and align it with the global strategy; including outsourcing and acquisition activities. You also monitor and analyze the competitive landscape and provide strategic oversight, ensuring that product specifications, options and pricing are aligned throughout the product ranges. With focus on marketing and sales, you develop and communicate the customer value proposition, and sponsor new product development. You analyze and set targets, correcting deviations when necessary, and ensure that all the product portfolios include a lifecycle perspective. Additionally, you define and size market segments, including GAP analysis, for the product line.
We are looking for someone with a degree from a relevant field of study or equivalent knowledge obtained from previous assignments. You have at least seven years of experience from global management in different cultural environments, and preferably experience from marketing or product management and the metal cutting industry. Experience in international marketing and sales, as well as business administration is considered advantageous. You have good skills in verbal and written English, while knowledge of Dutch, French or German is a plus.
