Projects and Range Architecture
Projects and Range Architecture (PRA) is a function in the Global Product Development organisation responsible to bring a significant contribution to the performance of Volvo Bus Corporation by:

• managing the project factory
• product cradle-to-grave responsibility
• range architecture
• homologation and certification of products and vehicles
PRA is a team of 100 people including project management, product management and homologation represented on 5 sites.
We are now looking for a Product Lead Electrics & Electronics.
Considering the continued urbanisation world-wide, there is an increasing concern about congestion and the environment. Since public transporting by bus plays a vital role in the solution, we expect an interesting and challenging future.

Job Summary
As Product Lead Electrics & Electronics your job is to outline the development of the our products in co-operation with Product planning, Product Development, Global Manufacturing among others. Your responsibility will be within electrical architecture, electrics, electronics, and embedded SW. This to support projects and markets.

A product lead has a Cradle-to-grave responsibility. In early phases the task is to outline the technical content in new projects, while later in the product life time it is to maintain its competetivness. Another part of the job is to support the projects and production with a good documentation structure.

You will report to the Chief Vehicle Architect.

Main Responsibilities and Authorities

• Contribute to project pre-requisites in early stages to support a balanced Project Description with Requirement Specification and balanced QDCF.
• Product plan coordinated with Feature plan and technical road maps
• Lead the technical investigations in pre-study phase.
• Lead the iPMR to PMR tasks in the Quest process for Electrics and Electronics
• Contribute to product road maps to reach QDCF targets on product level
• Continuously develop processes to improve way of working
• Participate in tender work
• Managing maintenance budget within the area.
• Responsible for product specifications, variant structure and restrictions in KOLA
• Be our customers voice in to product development.
• Work in highly international and multi-functional network environment consisting of our Business Regions, Product Development, After Market and Production.

Requested Qualifications
• Engineering degree, miniumum Bachelor degree
• Technical knowledge of automotive electrics and electronics and/or embedded SW
• Good engineering judgement ability
• Product and project management skills
• Holistic experience of vehicle industry/market (production, purchase etc.)
• Strategic thinking: Customer focus and priority setting
• Initiative and Solution oriented
• Ability to drive tasks independently
• Good net-worker with a holistic view and good communication and negotiating skills
• Structural way of working
• Drive to improve
• Language skills: English (excellent skills)
