Volvo Technology (VTEC) is an innovation company that develops new technologies for products and services within the transport and vehicle industry. The work is mainly carried out in projects together with Volvo Group companies and in national and international consortia in research programs with academia, research institutes and other companies.
The department of Humans, Systems & Structures performs applied research and development with focus on developing the interaction between the user and the system in order to create safe, environmental friendly, efficient and satisfying products and services. We work and have competence in the below areas.
• Human factors
• Intelligent vehicle technologies
• Mechanics and manufacturing
• Vehicle solutions and Transport analysis
• Environment and chemistry
The Human Factors Group (6310) performs applied research and development, with the primary goals to develop and to ensure a safe, comfortable and efficient relationship between the user and the vehicle system. To do this we have a multidisciplinary staff of employees, skilled in human factors and engineering sciences. We are looking for a person with cognitive and technical skills to strengthen Volvo in the development of the user and customer impression of our products. The product experience area comprises e.g. affective design, quality impression, branding, semantics, acceptance & adoption and user needs & requirements of complete products, sub-systems and services. You will have a key role in evaluating, setting requirements and developing the driver environment within this area.
Examples of work are:
Manage and lead user-product experience related R&D projects, internal and in international R&D consortia.
Perform user impression and user-product experience evaluations
User needs analysis
Frequent customer contacts
Experimental design, statistical analysis and interview techniques
Background:
Masters degree in cognitive, behavioral sciences or psychology
Professional experience from product development
Experienced in project management
Knowledge in experimental design and statistical analysis Affective design and product semantics
Brand development
Other:
Analytical skills
Good communications skills including technical writing and oral presentations(English and Swedish)
Can work independently, but also a good team player
Flexible
Knowledge about the commercial transportation industry
