To our R&D and Innovation organisation, we are looking for a new colleague with good technical and mechanical skills. You will work in a fantastic team as the link between Ecophon, its customers and suppliers to find sustainable technical solutions.
About the position
As Product Engineer, you will be part of the Product Engineering & Development team in the R&D and Innovation organisation, which is responsible for Saint-Gobain Ceilings' products through their lifecycle. You will be assigned part of our ceilings range across our different brands, and you will be fully responsible for their specifications, compliance as well as their documentation. You will work in an international environment, in close cooperation with our production sites and our suppliers across Europe, to keep products constantly up-to-date with latest developments and requirements. Additionally, you will support our sales units and network of technical experts with technical issues related to our products. You will work closely with your fellow Engineers and be responsible for specific functions and areas of expertise for the Saint-Gobain Ceilings products.
The position is based at Saint-Gobain Ecophon AB, our main company within the Ceilings activity, in Hyllinge, Sweden. Limited travelling will be included in this role.
The tasks of the position are varied and include for example:
Ensure compliance of assigned product ranges with legal requirements
Maintain up-to-date information and documentation of assigned product ranges
Own production specification of assigned finished products (including associated components) and coordinate with relevant stakeholders in case of upcoming change or new product development
Build and own a more advanced knowledge of specific technical area(s) with close relationships with relevant external contacts and bring support to the rest of the organisation
Be the point of contact for Technical Support and Claim Coordination on technical issues regarding assigned product ranges
Profile
We are looking for a candidate with higher education with a technical or engineering degree (BSc or similar) and relevant practical experience, preferably in the construction or building materials industry. You have a strong technical and mechanical understanding, and competence in CAD software is seen as mandatory, together with excellent written and spoken English.
As a person, you show strong communication skills and you are able to work in a structured and organised way. You are a "doer" that can manage several tasks and missions simultaneously without losing focus on the details. You make things happen and you are not afraid of taking initiatives and finding information on your own. You will be interacting with many people; therefore we appreciate open-minded and easy-going personalities with strong social skills. You are an agile fast learner who likes to learn new things.
