Getinge Group is in an exciting and intensive period of change and we are strengthening our Business Category Unit Patient and Post-Acute Care (BCU PPAC) with a Product Development Engineer - Mechanical. ArjoHuntleigh, which is the PPAC brand, want to be the globally leading provider of healthcare solutions for people affected by reduced mobility. The position
In this position you will be part our R&D team within the Patient and Post-Acute Care (PPAC) Business Category, working with the design and development of medical devices in the New Product Development group of ArjoHuntleigh.

Among your main responsibilities and tasks will be:
• Develop new and existing medical products with focus on the mechanical parts such as structures, mechanisms and materials.
• Participate in the development of Design Inputs like customer requirements/user needs and engineering requirements. Ensures user needs can be validated and engineering requirements can be verified.
• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings (in Solid Works) of the product and perform detailed product analysis.
• Make sure the product is manufacturable to the right quality and cost.
• Prototyping the design.
• Documentation of the product by for example specification sheets and part drawings.
• Provide technical assistance to Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and Operations groups throughout the early production builds and launch.
• Participate in risk assessment on the design and product.
• Adhere to standards to help ensure compliance with for example FDA and MDD.

The position is based at our site in Malmö. Since the role involves international contacts, the position requires some travel, which is estimated to approximately 5-10% on an annual basis.
You will be reporting to the Manager - Product Development Engineering in Malmö.
The ideal candidate
As ideal for the position you have at least 10 years' experience within Mechanical Design, preferably from medical devices industry or other regulated industry. You have at least a Bachelor 's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar. You have a good understanding of product risk management. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience working with SolidWorks or similar 3D-modeling is required. Further, you have materials knowledge, for example in plastics (including tooling), steels and/or aluminum. It is an advantage if you have knowledge working with flow simulation and corrosion. You are fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
As a person you are positive and driven with an action-oriented attitude. Being able to communicate efficiently with different international stakeholders, in a professional, diplomatic and co-operative manner, is an important asset in order to succeed in the role. You are a creative, open-minded and solution-oriented team-player who makes sure actions are implemented. Displaying excellent customer service skills and integrity are also key factors.
