We specialize in protecting equipment and structures against wear in mineral processing. Our expertise in utilizing a wide range of wear materials enables us to deliver tailored solutions that optimize customers' production performance using high wear-resistant products.
About the job
In this position, you analyze customer requirements and product specifications to create practical engineering designs. You play a vital role in ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards while considering cost and production schedules. Utilizing 3D-printing technology and scanning techniques, you have the tools needed to design and evaluate fitness-for-use product specifications as well as for rapid prototyping. You collaborate with our R&D team - exploring new working methodologies and staying up to date with emerging technologies in the market. Supporting our sales teams, customers, and manufacturing partners in a global base during the pre-sales and ordering processes, is also part of your daily work.
This also includes:
Creating and reviewing material part specifications and bills of materials.
Specifying precise wear protection product functional requirements to produce final designs.
Evaluating the design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety.
Ensuring compliance with established industry safety and design standards and guidelines.
Utilizing CAD systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings.
This position is based at our Sandvik Rock Processing headquarters in Svedala - a fast and easy commute from surrounding cities, such as Malmö, Lund and Ystad, and with our site located just across from the train station. Additionally, we offer a hybrid work setup with a mix of office work with work from home or another location.
About you
We're looking for someone who holds a bachelor's degree in a relevant field related to Mechanical Design and Manufacturing, either as a recent graduate or with a few years of relevant working experience. You have a good understanding of the manufacturing processes involved in creating product designs, including knowledge of machining, fabrication, welding, casting, and molding processes. Demonstrated proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD), specifically SolidWorks, and knowledge of engineering simulation software is a plus.

As our Competence Center is based in Sweden and we operate globally, fluent communication skills in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written, are essential.
