The Purchasing department Chassis is responsible for purchase of direct material to Volvo Car Group and is divided into two groups: Brakes, Wheels & Tires and Wheel Suspension & Steering. In this position you will focus primarily on wheel suspension assemblies from sheet metal stampings.
As a Product Buyer Wheel Suspension & Steering your main tasks are to purchase prototypes and production material for programs and running production. You are also responsible for sourcing and quality assurance of suppliers. You will also carry out negotiations at an optimal cost level as well as make agreements and contracts and conduct supplier selection and evaluation. In this position you will cooperate in cross-functional teams.
Main responsibilities
• Achieve improvements and efficiency by establishing a supplier base in accordance with overall strategy
• Administrative work (transactions, updating price files, reporting, resolving supplier issues)
• Main contact for all commercial issues towards the suppliers
• Sourcing activities: Issue RFQ, negotiate and establish Sourcing Agreement and CPA, and issue Purchase Orders
• Act on design changes within the project
• Establish action plans on part specific supplier issues in running business
Required qualifications
• Commercial or technical university degree or equivalent experience
• A few years of experience from purchasing within the automotive industry
• Technical knowledge and automotive interest is an advantage
• Proven negotiation and commercial experience
• Computer skills (MS Office) are required, especially Excel and Powerpoint
• Fluent in English
• Driver's license B
