Power Supply within the area Electrical Purchasing is an interesting area that is adapting to new technology. The purchasing team includes one commodity buyer and one product buyer located in China. Power Supply commodity includes, batteries, support batteries, starters, alternators and battery monitor sensors. Power Supply are adapting to new 48V technology for the future. This role is critical for Electrical purchasing if we should be able to secure Volvo Car Groups targets for todays and future business within this exiting area.
As Product Buyer - Electrical Purchasing you will be part of a buyer team and you will be responsible to finalise and optimise sourcing of the systems and also secure the project and day to day business. You will also be responsible to negotiate the annual result for the current business and perform actions (market tests etc) needed to optimise the business over time. The tasks will be performed in cooperation with a team of colleagues from Purchasing, Development, Product Planning and Marketing.
Main responsibilities
* Develop and deploy strategies within Power Supply together with the team at Purchasing, R&D, PPL and MSS
* Be responsible for your deliveries to the complete purchasing area around Power Supply
* Support the Commodity Buyer in the Power Supply team
* Be responsible and lead sourcing's and yearly commercial negotiations together with the Commodity Buyer
* Be responsible and lead purchasing's parts in the Commodity Business Plan together with the Commodity Buyer
* Travelling to a certain extent is part of the job
Required qualifications
* Commercial or Technical education at university or equivalent
* 3 years of experience in purchasing
* Experience in project lead oriented issues
* Great ability to handle many issues and projects in parallel
* Good knowledge in English, written and spoken
* Experience of the power supply commodity of hardware and software is an advantage
Personal qualities
* Energetic with good cooperation skills
* Good skills in negotiation and really enjoys to negotiate
* Good communication skills
* Likes challenges and is very focused on reaching the target line
* Is motivated by finding and create new solutions and possibilities
