Engineer will be responsible for development of a new technology for industrial boiler sooting based on shock wave generation using electrical exploding wires.
Specific Tasks will be:
• Carry out fundamental research including
• Identify critical aspects of technology and carry out research to develop their applicability to application
• Develop series of laboratory experiments to prove concept
• Construction and operation of experiments
• Analysis of results
• Bench scale demonstration
• Design and specification of all components
• Supervise fabrication of and/or procure all components
• Build and test demonstration unit
• Generate reports of results
• Procure government and/or industrial funding to support research/development program
• Beta test unit
• Identify host sites for installation of a beta test unit
• Negotiate a host site agreement
• Procure all technical details required
• Design test unit
• Supervise installation
• Commission installation
• Design and implement a data acquisition protocol
• Commercial Prototype
• Working with design engineers develop a commercial design to optimize functionality and economics.
• Supervise manufacturing, installation and operation of first commercial unit.
Description of qualifications:
Engineer will possess the following qualification:
• Ph. D. degree in Electrical Engineering specializing in high voltage and fluid mechanics.
• Minimum twenty years of experience with Research and Development of innovative industrial processes
• Experience with a variety of industrial and utility processes including solid fuel boilers, pulp and paper, wood products, metallurgical, mineral.
• Experience with high energy electrical pulse discharge devices.
• Experience with acoustical boiler and heat exchanger cleaning.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
• Proficiency with all office software and AutoCAD.
• Fluency in English
